Blue Sky Host came to life in the year 2000 - originally simply as a domain name for a hosting space, and subsequently as a vehicle for re-introducing old-fashioned concepts of customer service into the increasingly technical realm of emerging Internet technologies. Somehow immune to the Y2K bug, and operating in a market that had matured beyond the reach of the NASDAQ crash, our focus was purely web hosting.

It's now 2007 and we all now know certain secret truths - such as that email is more important than web hosting, even though most providers give email away for free; and that not every site that sets up a credit card payment gateway is going to automatically rake in millions of dollars of sales for whatever product it chooses to sell online, no matter how inappropriate.

We know that realising the benefits of a web site is usually more about saving costs in your communication effort than adding revenue - even if you manage to make a good turnover. And we know that no matter how much we know now, someone else will always know more, if not now, then tomorrow.

We believe that our core competency is interfacing between the business user and Internet-based technologies. What we do is manage your business' relationship with the Internet. If we don't know the answers to your questions, we find them; and if we can't find them we find someone who can. We see ourselves as a marriage counsellor moreso than a dating service - at the end of the day you can't run away from it, so we're here to help. We're your own personal internetwork.

When we entered the web hosting market commercially in 2001, we felt that most Internet providers were run by ex-geeks - everything was delineated in technical terms and there was very little understanding of marketing, customer service or modern business practices. Even if we resort to technical definitions for contractual purposes, we only do so because we aim to translate these into meaningful benefits to our customers.

Now, price competition is the market mantra, and is threatening the viability of web hosting as a service industry. We don't believe in price competition, we believe in service differentiation. At the end of the day we want to help or customers prosper - we want to make you money, not save it.. 'It's the way forward', as one of our current customers likes to say.
