The Windows 2000 server is dead. Long live the Windows 2003 server.
The company that provided our Windows 2000 server appears to have managed to bankrupt itself. Unfortunately we cannot gain access to anything on their network - including backups - and it looks like this is unlikely to change. Fortunately we only have a few customers hosted on the Windows platform. Nevertheless this is extremely embarrassing for us and we shall have to eat humble pie in begging for your forgiveness. We've already ordered a new Windows 2003 server with the company we do most of our dealings with (much bigger and more reliable company I might add), and we expect it to be available later tonight. The Windows 2000 server was a very limited investment when it was first set up, as it was only for a couple of web sites. We'd been planning to make this move anyway (which includes a hardware upgrade), but unfortunately have been too busy to get it done. Looks like we should have un-busied ourselves. We'll endeavour to contact everyone affected with new FTP details so that you can upload your sites. Email is not affected. If you haven't yet heard from us, please call Chris Bell on 0405 245 404 (we'll blank that out later). Naturally, all guarantees apply where invoked. |
